About :

Organized by writer, board-certified naturopathic doctor, and founder of Masha Tea, Maria Geyman, this writing retreat is for those who are seeking open time for creative projects.

We will have daily pilates with Kayla Principato, coming from New York, and I am working on a journaling prompts book with the founder of Moonlists, specifically for this retreat so there will be self guided prompts to refer to throughout the course of your time there. The book will be released in time for our retreat.

I am including a massage with a local therapist into the cost. This retreat is best for those who are looking for a change of scenery to focus - it could be to focus on a specific writing or new work project. The retreat is structured to be flexible, with the added support of writing prompts, movement, swimming, and healthy food.

We will start every breakfast with a Masha iced tea of the day and in the heat of the afternoon, and recommend taking breaks in the heat of the afternoon at the infinity pool. There is plenty of space to write or work on creative projects - in the rooms, but also in hammocks, around the pool, at the yoga shala, or under the shade of the many olive trees. There will be an option for a vineyard visit and Kayla will be available to book private pilates sessions with (with a focus on posture and your body.)

For getting there and away, the closest airport is Florence (though last time I flew into Rome and out of Milan, both of which were also easy.) There is a train station in Monte San Savino (with a transfer in Arezzo) that we would pick you up from and drive you to the retreat site. It's also possible to arrange a car pickup directly from the Florence airport.

Last year we had a magazine editor working on her first novel, an acupuncturist ghost-writing a music memoir, but also several people who do not write professionally and just wanted open time to read, journal, and plan their creative endeavors to come. In a world that is so overscheduled, we provide a relatively unstructured space. We convene over shared healthy, organic, beautiful meals, and slow afternoons at the infinity pool. Our style is relaxed and fun. Places to write include underneath the shade of olive trees, in the wooden yoga shala, floating around in a hammock, and in the privacy of your guest room.

Maria is also organizing a retreat inspiration and reference library for guests to turn to on this stay
